What is chiropractic care?
Chiropractic care focuses on improving the function of the spine and nervous system through gentle adjustments. The goal is to help your body move better, reduce discomfort, and support overall wellness while getting your nervous system to function at the most optimal level.

Is chiropractic care safe?
Yes. Chiropractic care is considered very safe when performed by a licensed professional. Techniques are tailored to each individual’s needs, comfort level, and health history.

Does an adjustment hurt?
It’s possible to feel mild discomfort during or after an adjustment, especially if the area being treated is tight or inflamed. When muscles are tense or in spasm, stretching and restoring movement can cause temporary soreness. This is completely normal and often similar to how you might feel after a workout. Any post-treatment soreness typically resolves within a short time as the body begins to heal and adjust.

Can you adjust me without twisting my neck?
Yes! Dr. Tapp uses a variety of gentle adjustment techniques and will always tailor your care to your comfort level and individual needs. Nothing is ever done without your consent, and your comfort is always the top priority. If you prefer to avoid certain movements or techniques, just let her know — your visit will be customized to what feels best for you.

What conditions can chiropractic care help with?
Chiropractic care can help with back and neck pain, headaches, stiffness, posture issues, joint discomfort, and general tension. Many people also seek care for improved mobility and overall wellness. Chiropractic care can help with so many things and is always a great addition to help you body function at it’s best!

What if I’m scared or nervous about my appointment?
That’s completely okay — and very common! Dr. Tapp understands that trying something new can feel intimidating, especially if you’ve never had chiropractic care before. She takes the time to listen to your concerns, explain everything clearly, and move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is done without your consent. The goal is for you to feel safe, relaxed, and supported every step of the way.

How many visits will I need?
That depends on your individual goals, condition, and how your body responds. Some people feel relief quickly, while others benefit from ongoing wellness or maintenance care.

What should I expect at my first visit?
Your first visit typically includes a health history, discussion of your concerns, chiropractic education, x-rays, and an adjustment. Treatment is gentle and tailored to your needs, and everything is explained along the way.

Can I go to a chiropractor if I’m not in pain?
Absolutely! Many people choose chiropractic care as part of a wellness routine to maintain mobility, prevent stiffness, and support overall health.

How will I feel after an adjustment?
Most people feel relaxed or lighter afterward. Some may experience mild soreness, similar to a workout, which usually resolves within 24 hours.
